Exclusive Preview | ‘The Sheriff of Babylon’ # 6

Welcome to Baghdad, circa 2003! Writer Tom King and artist Mitch Gerads are collaborating on The Sheriff of Babylon, a 12-issue miniseries from Vertigo Comics which is about to reach its midway point.

Drawing upon King’s time working for the CIA in Baghdad, The Sheriff of Babylon is a fictional tale about Chris Henry, an American who finds himself training the Iraqi police in the so-called Green Zone and Sofia, an Iraqi woman with ties to America and the underworld of Baghdad.

CraveOnline’s exclusive preview from The Sheriff of Babylon # 6 finds Chris and his Iraqi friend, Nassir enjoying themselves in the Green Zone while Sofia causes waves as she attempts to get action against the terrorists who struck her organization.

Here’s Vertigo’s description for The Sheriff of Babylon # 6:

“It’s always hard to know for sure who is winning in a war, but for Christopher and his allies, they sure don’t see a clear victory coming anytime soon. While Chris and Sofia try to deal with a personal tragedy falling out from the attack on her convoy, Nassir’s enemies make another move on him and his wife—and this time the couple won’t get away so easily. This all began with two dead bodies, but it’s anyone’s guess how many more there will be before everything is finished.”

The Sheriff of Babylon # 6 will be released this Wednesday, May 4 in comic shops everywhere.
