The St. Louis Los Angeles Rams traded a truckload of picks to the Tennessee Titans earlier this spring in order to obtain the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. They used that pick Thursday night in order to grab the top-rated quarterback off the board.
The Rams drafted Cal standout Jared Goff, which puts a young, fresh, face to lead a franchise in the middle of a giant makeover.
Jon Gruden referred to Goff as “calm and cool, much like Joe Montana.” That might be a stretch, but Goff is a stud and will likely be a perennial All-Pro.
But fans on Twitter were mostly just pissed that the Rams took up their entire ten-minute time limit to announce the No. 1 overall selection.

Using the full 10 minutes with the first round pick is like farting in a crowded elevator and you had tacos last night. #NFLDraft2016

Others simply weren’t that optimistic about Goff in general, such as this bitter St. Louis radio host:
Rams ruined #1 pick Sam Bradford.I’m sure they’re up to the task of destroying Jared Goff as well. It’s what they do, and they’re good at it.

The Philadelphia Eagles took North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz at No. 2 overall. It will be very interesting to see who pans out and who doesn’t. Both likely have bright futures.
But kudos to the new L.A. Rams for making a big splash in their new city.
