Outlast 2 made an appearance at PAX East 2016, scaring the pants off of attendees with a short gameplay demo they could experience by heading into a darkened room behind an ominous black curtain.
Crave‘s sister site GameRevolution managed to snag some footage from the event, offering a brief look at the survival horror sequel that will be sure to set fans of the first game’s excitement levels into overdrive. It’s suitably creepy, with the player being pursued by the game’s crazed enemies throughout its desolate farmyard setting, though is relatively free of the jump scares you’re almost certainly set to find in in the finished version of the game.
Outlast 2 will be developed by the creators of its predecessor, Red Barrel Games, with it yet again tasking players with surviving in a hostile environment with nothing more than your video camera’s night vision mode to help you navigate your surroundings in the dark.
