The nominations for the 2016 Logie Awards have been announced, with many hailing organizers for the diversity of the nominees, with media darling and national treasure Lee Lin Chin‘s Gold Logie nom in particular generating a lot of excitement online.
Lee Lin is actually the first ever SBS personality nominated for the Gold Logie, her nomination coming off the back the huge #LeeLinforLogiesWin campaign led by “The Feed”, where she’s also been nominated for her work as a presenter. This might also explain why she has been everywhere recently from helping Iron Boy save Sydney with the Make A Wish Foundation, spruiking Sydney’s nightlife and sort of guest hosting Play School.
She, of course, met the news with characteristic cool, posting to twitter that: “Waking up a gold Logie nominee just feels better you know?”

It’s still a tough race though seeing as though she is up against “The Project” co-hosts Carrie Bickmore and Waleed Aly, “The Block” host Scott Cam, Essie Davis from the ABC and “Family Feud”‘s Grant Denyer. She is however getting heaps of support with many media personalities posting to social media championing her.

Joking about the nomination of both Bickmore and Aly, Peter Helliar said: “It’s going to be very awkward at The Project for the next month.”
Bickmore, however, was quick to dispel any rumors of rivalry. “I feel we need there to be a rivalry to fulfill everyone else’s expectations,” she said. “There genuinely is nothing.”
In a sign of changing times, streaming service Stan also received its first nominations, Dan Wyllie from the services exclusive comedy series “No Activity” in contention for Most Outstanding Supporting Actor. The show itself also got a nod for Most Outstanding Comedy, both nominations marking the first time original Australian programs from subscription streaming services have been considered for an award.
When it came to tallying the nominations for each network, ABC is leading the pack at 31, with Channel Nine, 25, Channel Seven, 22 and Network Ten, 20 following respectively.
