When Stick (Scott Glenn) made his lone appearance in Daredevil season 1, he hinted that a war was on the way. This Friday, that war arrives in Daredevil season 2. It’s not accurate to say that the ninja clan known as the Hand is coming…they’ve already been on the show! Last season, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) barely survived a fight with a single ninja. Unfortunately for Matt, the final Daredevil season 2 trailer shows him taking on the Hand by himself…and that’s probably not going to end well for him.
Matt’s former lover, Elektra (Elodie Yung) has her own vendetta against the Hand. And while she’s brought Daredevil into the conflict on her side, she’s not above threatening to kill Matt in the new trailer…right before she kisses him! The trailer also plays up the mystical side of the hand with some very ominous imagery and creepy kids who remind us of Black Sky from the first season. The Rising has begun, and not even Daredevil can stop it!
The wild card in this conflict is Jon Bernthal’s the Punisher. Will Frank Castle graduate from killing ordinary criminals to taking on a ninja death clan? While Matt probably isn’t looking to team up with his latest nemesis, Elektra could potentially join forces with the man who is nearly as lethal as she is.
All 13 episodes of Daredevil season 2 will premiere this Friday, March 18 on Netflix.
