Hell’s Kitchen is about to go to hell once again when Daredevil season 2 returns to Netflix later this month. Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) thought he had broken organized crime’s hold on his city…but he just paved the way for the Yakuza to take over…and the Hand to move in! For those of you keeping score at home, the Hand is a clan of fanatical ninjas who may or may not have mystical powers.
This season, Elektra (Elodie Yung) will reenter Matt’s life and draw him into her private war with the Hand. But Matt has bigger problems on the home front,as Frank Castle a.k.a. the Punisher (Jon Bernthal) comes to town and demonstrates that he’s vigilante who favors a more lethal blend of justice. Or as Castle puts it, the criminals he puts down stay down…mostly because he’s killed them all.
In advance of the new season of Daredevil, Netflix has released a new poster that features the Punisher, Daredevil, and Elektra, which offers the best glimpse yet of Daredevil’s new frenemies in costume.
As you can see, the Punisher is sporting a costume that is pretty faithful to his classic comic book look, including the famous skull insignia on his chest. Elektra’s costume is less faithful, and is already being called a Mortal Kombat outfit by some fans. And while Eletra’s costume doesn’t have the sublime beauty of her comic book counterpart’s red ensemble, it’s functional.
Daredevil season 2 drops on Friday, March 18.
