Foo Fighters Post Hilarious Video Addressing Breakup Rumors

Foo Fighters made a typically tongue-in-cheek announcement on social media on Wednesday night, after media and fan speculation over breakups, solo careers and more reached a fever pitch. The New York Post’s Page Six spread fear through Foo Fighters fans earlier this week when they said that frontman Dave Grohl was going solo with the band to go on a break but those rumors were quickly dispelled by a representative who said they were “utterly ridiculous”.

Then came the news from the band itself:

The band is, however, going on hiatus for a while. It “was not because we don’t love each other, or don’t want to make music together,” drummer Taylor Hawkins clarified in a recent interview. “We did so much in the last five or six years — we as a band could go into the studio tomorrow and have just as much fun as we ever had, but I think the world needs a break from us for a little while.”

The last time Foo Fighters went on a hiatus was in 2008. It lasted for three years but they returned in 2011 with a new record Wasting Light. Since then they have released another, Sonic Highways.

So for one last time,

The band’s official announcement is due any moment now. You can watch Hawkin’s talking about the hiatus below at the 5:10 mark.
