Coldplay have been announced as the first headliners for Glastonbury 2016, with the band set to take to the Pyramid Stage on Sunday, June 26th.
The band are the first set of headliners to be announced for the three-day event, with it being the only festival appearance they’ll make as part of their A Head Full of Dreams tour. It’s also a landmark moment for the festival itself, with them being the only band to have headlined the event on four occasions, as they previously topped the festival’s bill in 2002, 2005 and 2011.
The band hinted that they would make an appearance at the festival on Twitter, tweeting out a photo of Worthy Farm alongside the date of their appearance. Their headline slot was later confirmed by Glastonbury’s official website.

Coldplay recently performed alongside Beyonce and Bruno Mars at the Super Bowl 50 half-time show. They are also set to play a variety of live shows throughout the UK this year, performing in cities from Manchester to Glasgow.
