Dave Grohl has sent the internet into one hell of a love fest after being caught on camera dancing to Lionel Ritchie at the 2016 Grammys with a red solo cup in hand like the big over grown house party monster he is.
The big mystery seems to be where the cup came from, as one hardly imagines an event as classy as the Grammys would be using the same cups you used for your house-warming to serve alcohol to the brightest stars in the music industry.
Still, one can’t exactly imagine someone going to trouble of smuggling one in and playing it so low key as Grohl did. Unless of course he just doesn’t feel comfortable drinking out of anything else?
His dancing, and those of the rest of his party including Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins also deserves a mention, the lot of them looking like a bunch of teenagers front row at a school dance as the band shreds through a riotous cover of “Free Bird” (am I showing how old I am with that?). Seriously, this is some serious white people dancing magic right here.
Still while some of you may be surprised at the rocker getting so groovy to Lionel Ritchie’s easy listening sounds, Grohl’s fandom of the “All Night Long” singer was confirmed earlier this week when he performed Ritchie’s song “You Are” at MUSICARES Person of the Year tribute.
