At the end of March, DC and Warner Bros. are sending Batman and Superman into battle against each other. But before that happens, Marvel and Netflix have a superhero showdown of their own coming to Daredevil season 2. The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) has arrived in Hell’s Kitchen, and he won’t be satisfied by simply taking out criminals. He wants them dead. All of them.
Netflix has released the first full trailer for the second season of Daredevil, and it doesn’t hold back as Daredevil and the Punisher collide. The Punisher may not be superhuman, but he’s far from normal. And judging from these clips, he’s bringing more than Daredevil can handle.
As exciting as the trailer is, it holds back until the last few seconds to reveal Elektra (Élodie Yung), one of Marvel’s most popular characters who has…shall we say, a very complicated relationship with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). Additionally, the trailer hints at more friction between Matt and Foggy, as well as a romance between Matt and Karen. The video also teases a second Daredevil trailer that will be released on February 25.
Daredevil season 2 begins on Friday, March 18, with a simultaneous launch of all 13 episodes. The returning cast includes Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, with Stephen Rider joining the cast and Scott Glenn reprising his role as Stick in a multi-episode story arc.
