HBO’s Vinyl | Mick Jagger Talks About New York In The ’70s

If there’s anybody who knows the stories of New York’s music scene during the ‘70s, it’s Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. HBO’s upcoming drama, Vinyl was actually co-created by Jagger with Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, director Martin Scorsese, and journalist Rich Cohen.

While Vinyl is primary about music promoter Richie Finestra (as played by Bobby Cannavale ), it will undoubtedly be flavored by Jagger’s experiences and perspective. In a newly released video from HBO, Jagger shares some of his memories about life in New York during the ‘70s. And as Jagger relates his story Richie stumbles stumbles upon a new band in footage from the series.

Jagger also takes a few moments to speak about his experiences with artist, photographer and pop culture icon Andy Warhol.

Vinyl costars include Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, P. J. Byrne, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, and Juno Temple.

HBO will premiere the pilot episode of Vinyl on Sunday, February 14.
