News junkies rejoice! HBO’s Vice, winner of the 2014 Emmy for Outstanding Informational Series or Special, is kicking off its 18-show fourth season next month. It takes viewers with correspondents as they investigate the stories that are not being told in the mainstream media. Reporting on the world’s most pressing issues, the show uses an “immersive documentary approach to bring a unique perspective to the events shaping our future.”
This season, Vice delves into such topics as Boko Haram, gene editing, the Syrian refugee crisis, euthanasia, gay rights, and the plight of Afghan women.
The series is hosted by Vice Media founder Shane Smith, and executive produced by him as well as Eddy Moretti, VICE’s chief creative officer, BJ Levin and Bill Maher, with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria serving as consulting producer.
Season four features returning and new correspondents, and new correspondents include Emmy-nominated journalist and Middle East expert Ahmed Shihab-Eldin and Kaj Larsen, an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Navy SEALs.
Season 4 of Vice debuts on Friday, February 5th at 11pm on HBO Canada.
