Radiohead to Headline Primavera Sound Festival, Plot Summer Tour

American music festivals just got a rude awakening. Primavera Sound Festival has announced the best lineup we’ve seen for any festival so far this year, taking place in Barcelona from June 2-4. Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Air, Sigur Ros, Brian Wilson, Actuion Bronson and many others are set to perform.

The announcement marks Radiohead’s first-announced live dates of the year (or any since 2012), with an expected tour in 2016 to support their forthcoming and presently-unnamed ninth album.

The lineup also includes Tame Impala,  Animal Collective, Beach House, the Last Shadow Puppets, Brian Wilson (performing Pet Sounds), John Carpenter, Pusha T, Neon Indian, Ty Segall and the Muggers, Julia Holter, Savages, Vince Staples, Explosions in the Sky, Moderat, Drive Like Jehu, Dinosaur Jr., Deerhunter, Chairlift, Kamasi Washington, Battles, Thee Oh Sees, Holly Herndon, Protomartyr, Sheer Mag, DJ Koze, Empress Of, Beirut, Dâm-Funk, Parquet Courts, Shellac, Hudson Mohawke (DJ), Floating Points, Titus Andronicus, Nao, Freddie Gibbs, U.S. Girls, Black Lips, Evian Christ, Beak>, Jenny Hval, Royal Headache, Car Seat Headrest, Wild Nothing, Mudhoney, Cass McCombs, Tortoise, Suede, Downtown Boys, Alex G, Jay Rock, the Chills, Moses Sumney, Dungen, DJ Richard, White Fence, and many others.

Radiohead are also seat to headline Openair St. Gallen, a Swizz music festival which will also welcome Mumford & Sons, Deichkind (a German hip-hop collective) and Fettes Brot (German hip-hop).

The band recently set up a company called Dawn Chorus, leading many to believe their next album could be released at any point. Thom Yorke and co. did the same for the release of King of Limbs, starting up Ticker Tape Limited, and for In Rainbows, for which they started Xurbia Xendless Limited.

Yorke recently released the band’s attempt at the Spectre James Bond theme song, which isn’t very good, but the two potential new Radiohead songs he recently unveiled at a solo performance most definitely are.
