Former Swedish House Mafia members and EDM-powerhouses Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso have released some stellar, anthem-worthy tracks as a duo since their split from Steve Angello. Previous tracks like “Sun Is Shining” and “On My Way” have a lighter, more inspirational tone and message, and has become their signature sound over recent months.
“This Time,” built on a sample from the recent “Something New,” throws the gentle positivity out the window with some metal-like intensity, aggressively pounding speakers with robotic tones over a familiar tapping of cymbals. Fuel is further added to the fire by a verse dropped by G.O.O.D. Music Inc.’s (Kanye West-founded record label) new President, Pusha T. “This Time”, as Pusha T’s verse proclaims, is “more tribal, more savage” than anything else we’ve heard from Axwell Λ Ingrosso.
As with all Axwell Λ Ingrosso tracks, there’s still an inspirational message at heart that can’t be felt from the thumping of the beat or heard through the lyrics – all proceeds of the track will be donated to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to benefit countries with refugee populations.
Not only will “This Time” get you hyped, but it’ll be supporting a great cause.
