Holiday-themed rock opera ensemble The Wizards of Winter are spraying scalding piss all over the imbecile-baiting Starbucks holiday cup controversy by pulling the yuletide trigger on their album, The Magic of Winter, a month and a goddamn half early. Fans and Christmas loving rockers can hit Pollstar for the full stream of the album, produced by Eric Rachel at Traxeast (Symphony X, Skid Row, Styx).
The band features original members of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, so it comes as no surprise to hear sweeping, dramatic arrangements of holiday songs and classics on The Magic of Winter – a fine record to get your Santa spirit flowing in full force even before the pumpkin spice hordes have conducted their annual flightless-bird holocaust.
The album arrives just in time for Wizards of Winter’s upcoming tour “An Evening with Wizards of Winter”: a 20+ city U.S. holiday tour beginning November 19th in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and ending on December 29th in Harrisburg, PA. Physical format orders arrive November 13th, while the digital version will be available via iTunes on November 20th.
Tickets for “An Evening with Wizards of Winter” are on sale now.
