Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are intimately tied together in the comic book world. Later this month, both Jessica (Krysten Ritter) and Luke (Mike Colter) will make their live-action debuts on Marvel’s Jessica Jones series on Netflix. And apparently, their connection will remain strong in this incarnation.
Netflix has finally dropped the second trailer for Jessica Jones, which loosely adapts the mature readers Alias comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos that introduced Jessica Jones to the Marvel Universe. Jessica is a very emotionally damaged and foul-mouthed heroine, and she has been one of Marvel’s breakout new characters over the last decade.
The new trailer follows the initial meetings of Jessica and Luke, as they come to realize that they both have superpowers. There is also a very quick glimpse of a more physical encounter between Luke and Jessica that partially recreates the infamous sex scene from Alias # 1.

Additionally, the new Jessica Jones trailer also offers a better example of what Kilgrave (David Tennant) can do. The former star of Doctor Who is embracing his villainous side on Jessica Jones as a man who can bend other people to his will. And there’s no one that Kilgrave likes to dominate than Jessica Jones, who may be the only person who can stop him.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones also stars Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval. The first season of 13 episodes will premiere on Netflix on Friday, November 20. And if Jessica Jones performs as well as Daredevil did earlier this year, don’t be too shocked if it also gets a quick season 2 renewal from Netflix.
