I’m not a skier (but should be given the resorts and hills that abound near my home in Montreal), but I love ski towns like Saint-Saveur and Mont-Tremblant – I had the chance to visit the latter this past weekend. Mont-Tremblant is fantastic for everyone – it’s a great family-friendly vacation destination, with lots to see and do. It’s oozing romance and charm for couples, and the trendy bars and foodie hotspots make it ideal for hip millennials.
Autumn and the fall foliage are stunning right now in the Mont-Tremblant area – a hike through the national park is a fantastic way to spend the day, or maybe a boat cruise (they have dinner cruises too in the warmer months). There are also a number of championship golf courses. We took a sunset ride on the scenic gondola and the views were second to none. There are really cool up-and-coming restaurants to experience, as well as cafes, Place Bonbon (right in the heart of the action with the best fudge hands down), the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and more.
In terms of accommodations, there’s a wide range of properties to choose from, especially in the pedestrian village. From hotels to condos, these units can accommodate couples as well as larger groups. I’m a tried-and-true fan of the Fairmont chain, and the Fairmont Mont-Tremblant sits atop the village, with indoor and outdoor heated pools, panaoramic views of the area, and amazing dining options (the breakfast buffet is a must!). They also have a world-class spa, exercise room, and the most professional of staff. If it’s your first time visiting the Tremblant area and you’re not sure where you should stay, consider the Fairmont!
I’ve been to the area many times, but fall is especially special in Mont-Tremblant.
