So listen in as The B-Movies Podcast interviews Genndy Tartakovsky, who says he’s “pushing harder than ever” to finish the saga of Samurai Jack, whether it’s in a movie or a TV mini-series, and describes several of the ways he might deal with the passing of Mako, who famously voiced the villainous Aku. He’s open to recasting Aku, possibly even with Greg Baldwin (who replaced Mako in the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender after the actor’s death in 2006), but “I’ve also been thinking about maybe Aku gets punched and his voice changes, kind of embrace it.”
