Treasure Island Music Festival Adds Big Grams For First Public Performance

The Treasure Island Music Festival (TIMF) has given its incredible 2015 lineup a serious boost with the new addition of Big Grams, the newly formed collaborative project between critically acclaimed artists Phantogram and Big Boi.

The ninth annual incarnation of the festival will run October 17–18 in San Francisco, and will host the first scheduled public performance for the new group playing a full set, including songs from their seven-track EP, “Big Grams,” set to be released on this September 25 via Epic. Big Boi and Phantogram, who previously collaborated on Big Boi’s “Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors,” also bring in Skrillex and Run The Jewels (also playing TIMF) to contribute to songs on the new EP.

In addition to Big Grams, TIMF has an incredible music lineup slated for the two-day Fest with no overlapping sets during this memorable weekend in the San Francisco Bay. Saturday’s headliner Deadmau5 will be performing for the first time in San Francisco since 2011. FKA twigs, recently added to the lineup, will be accompanied by STS9, Run The Jewels, Gorgon City (Live), Hudson Mohawke and more to round out the sounds of Saturday. The National are set to headline on Sunday with captivating sets planned by Chvrches, The War On Drugs, Father John Misty, Panda Bear, Jose Gonzalez, Deerhunter, Drive Like Jehu, who haven’t played the Bay Area in over two decades, and more.

Additionally, 2015 will mark the launch of the festival’s first-ever comedy tent in partnership with Funny or Die. This year, TIMF will welcome a lineup of more than fifteen comedians co-curated by Funny or Die for both days of the Bay Area fest. Plus, TIMF will host a variety of official night shows following the Festival each day and featuring an eclectic mix of nationally acclaimed and up-and-coming music acts.

Announcements regarding the comedy lineup as well as additional Festival news will be coming soon. Weekend and single-day passes to TIMF 2015 are on sale now at treasureislandfestival.com
