Riot Fest | Rancid: 20 Years After ‘Out Come the Wolves’

If you were hoping for an Operation Ivy reunion at Riot Fest, you’d be sorely disappointed. Operation Ivy is the band that all your favorite punk and ska bands grew up listening to, wishing they would have been able to see them live. And while we’re going to have to accept the unfortunate reality that we won’t see Op Ivy (for old time fans) take the stage, the constellation prize is not so bad.

Legendary musicians and members of Op Ivy, Matt Freeman and Tim Armstrong, were the stars of the show Saturday at Riot Fest, when their second opp, a little band called Rancid, took front and center attention. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘Out Come the Wolves’ released on August 22, 1995, the group performed the album in its entirety.

Fan engagement was intense, with a vast see of Riot Fest attendees will full focus on the group.  Armstrong and team looked like they had the energy of teenagers captivating the audience, and bringing some serious fun to the mud engrossed festival grounds.

Here’s the thing about energy – it’s infectious. We highly recommend catching Rancid on their tour which just left Chicago. Upcoming dates include Terminal 5 in NYC (not quite the airport), Riot Fest in Toronto, Canada & a trilogy of NYE shows.
