There is so much heat surrounding former Parramatta Eel turned NFL player Jarryd Hayne and his ongoing efforts to join the San Francisco 49ers 53-man team roster, that rather than wait to see what happens, EA Sports have just gone ahead and added him to Madden 16 anyway.
The iconic gaming franchise announced that Hayne has been added to the game’s Madden Ultimate Team mode, where players can put together their fantasy teams, henpicking players from whatever teams they please. Hayne will also will be available for users to add to their teams and trade as they see fit.
Hayne’s addition comes after an unprecedented push from fans to have him included in the game emerged. To get some perspective on how hot his property is right now, not only are the 49ers rapidly selling out of his number 38 jersey in their official retail store, they’re selling so fast Nike has been brought in in preparation of mass production.
EA Sports, not being blind to this, where quick to hitch the wagon to the HAYNEMANIA gravy train, releasing the following statement regarding the addition.
“EA SPORTS is excited to welcome Jarryd Hayne to the NFL. We’re celebrating the Aussie phenom, and self-professed Madden NFL fan, with a special Madden Ultimate Team item that’s available in-game right now.
“Some lucky fans were able to add him to their team. Fans who want to get Hayne on their squad should keep an eye out for fans looking to trade him for another player, or check out the auction house to see if he’s available there.”
