Fast Racing Neo is the Closest the Wii U Will Get to a New F-Zero

F-Zero fans have been begging for a new entry in the futuristic racing series ever since the dust settled on the underrated F-Zero GX for the GameCube, but their prayers have unfortunately not been answered on the Wii U. However, developer Shin’en Games have stepped up to the plate with Fast Racing Neo, a game that looks set to take up F-Zero‘s mantle and please a whole bunch of Wii U owners in the process.

Fast Racing Neo will be released on Nintendo’s eShop later this year, but PAX Prime attendees got to take a closer look at the game during their indie showcase at the event. Online and offline modes were highlighted during its showing, with it looking like a very promising mix between F-Zero and Wipeout, combining the two high-speed racers together to create something that might just sate the appetite of those who have been awaiting Captain Falcon’s belated comeback.
