Lollapalooza attendees arriving early in Chicago will have the chance to enjoy some pre-party excitement for a great cause, as indie pop/electronic hero Toro y Moi will head up Wednesday night’s Nelarusky event at the legendary Metro to benefit the Special Olympics.
Oxford, Mississippi based Young Buffalo and Nashville rockers Sol Cat will also perform at the event, which is selling tickets for $25. The Official Lollapalooza After Show is directed by young entrepreneur Lauren McClusky, who began the event nine years ago.
The first two Nelarusky events featured bands from Chicago high schools and since then has grown to encompass internationally known bands in partnership with Lollapalooza. In 2014, Nelarusky raised $20,000 USD for Special Olympics Illinois, bringing the total over the course of nine years to approximately $200,000.
This year’s event will take place at the Metro on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015. Doors open at 7 P.M.
