Jaden Smith Drops Life Wisdom In New Video, Proves He Might Actually Be A Genius

Jaden Smith‘s acting career has often been overshadowed by his strange and often nonsensical philophisings on Twitter. Over the years, the Karate Kid  has prompted us ponder such universal questions as “If A Cupcake Falls From A Tree, How Far Away Will It Be From Down? #Jupiter”, “If A Book Store Never Runs Out Of A Certain Book, Does That Mean Nobody Reads It, Or Everybody Reads It?” and of course, “How Can Mirrors Be Real If Our Eyes Aren’t Real?”

Absolute nonsense, the lot of it.

But now, in a new video in which Will Smith Jr. speaks about his clothing line MSFtS (pronounced “Misfits”), the kid actually makes *some* sense. He riffs passionately about the importance of individuality, and not being afraid to learn from people. He drops some wisdom grenades about how babies initially learn by mimicking their parents, and need to be allowed to grow up mimicking others before they can ultimately “find themselves”.

He even uses himself as an example: “I used to mimic Tyler [The Creator], I still do. Kanye [West], I still do. I have to go through that to understand this is me.”

“MSFTS is… a vehicle to find yourself,” the teenage philoso-raptor then explains. “I’m going to do this, so that through this and this group of people I can find myself. If you want to follow us, follow us. That’s cool, you can be just like us. But only because you’re going to find yourself through that.”

Maybe we were the crazy ones this whole time.
