Well… No one could have seen this coming.
Deadline is reporting that Fox and Paramount TV are planning to reboot the 1987 classic thriller, Fatal Attraction as an event series. The Fatal Attraction film was directed by Adrian Lyne, and it starred Michael Douglas as attorney Dan Gallagher, a man whose misguided affair with publisher Alexandra “Alex” Forrest (Glenn Close) becomes deadly when she gets obsessive and refuses to let go of him. Arguably, that film set the tone for the modern Hollywood sexual thriller.
The new Fox incarnation of Fatal Attraction will reportedly keep the premise of the original. The report also notes that Fox President of Entertainment, David Madden developed and supervised the Fatal Attraction film when he was at Paramount in the ‘80s.

Mad Men veterans Maria and Andre Jacquemetton are attached to write and executive produce Fox’s Fatal Attraction update, with Stanley R. Jaffe and Rosalie Swedlin also on board as executive producers.
Paramount TV has been aggressively setting up adaptations of the company’s films for TV. Paramount is also developing a Shutter Island series at HBO, an adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events at Netflix and a TV incarnation of American Gigolo.
