Walking, talking Urban Outfitters mannequins Mumford and Sons have came out in support of Kanye West following the backlash around his scheduled headline slot at Glastonbury.
The announcement that Kanye West would be taking to the Pyramid stage at the festival this year sparked the creation of yet another fruitless Change.org petition, this time calling for festival organiser Michael Eavis to throw his money down the garbage chute and look for another headliner, preferably a “rock band.”

However, Mumford and Sons have stated that they believe Kanye West is the last remaining rock star, which would surely leave the likes of Keith Richards rolling in his gravestone. If you’re going to tell me that Keith Richards is still alive, then I’d like you to look at the below photograph and explain to me how that thing could ever be perceived as being among the living:
Speaking to Billboard, guitarist Winston Marshall said: “There will always be a fucking huge rock band. There’s a lot of rock out there, [but] I don’t think it’s what our generation will be remembered for. I think it’ll be Kanye West and Rihanna.”
Frontman Marcus Mumford echoed the guitarist’s sentiments, adding: “I think Kanye is sick. He’s the only rock star left.”
While the thought of a Mumford believing that adding the word “sick” as an adjective to their lexicon has me dry-heaving, I am certainly of the belief that Kanye is more than well-equipped to headline the biggest festival in the UK. I do doubt that the creator of ‘Black Skinhead’ and ‘Jesus Walks’ needed a Mumford’s affirmation, though.
