At this point, the term “Chelsea fans” has taken on a whole new meaning. Previously only used to refer to supporters of Chelsea Football Club, as of late it is seemingly solely used to describe racist men hurling abuse from train carriages. After the incident in PSG, those “Chelsea fans” are at it again, this time allegedly being thoroughly abhorrent on a train from London to Manchester.
The British Transport Police reported that they were called to address an incident on a train in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday, with four men being asked to leave the train. The police stated that the other passengers on the train claimed the man were Chelsea fans, travelling following their victory against Tottenham in the Capital One Cup final.

A representative for Chelsea said that the club was aware of the reports, adding: “It’s not yet clear if any Chelsea supporters were involved but if they were we will, of course, be assisting the British Transport Police with their inquiries.”
According to reports, the four men were part of a larger group that exited the train during its stop at Milton Keynes. They allegedly asked two young Asian girls “where they got their burkas from” along with signing songs about Tottenham and the World War II concentration camp Auschwitz. One witness, a black man, left the carriage due to the verbal abuse he and others were experiencing on the carriage.
Police are now assessing video footage taken from the train’s security cameras, with a statement from the force reading: “Shortly after 22:30 GMT, officers were called to meet a London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly train at Stoke, following reports of racist and abusive behaviour by a number of passengers, said to be football fans.
“Colleagues from Staffordshire Police also attended.
“We have spoken to two witnesses, and investigations continue.”
