Back in 2003, Fox released a Daredevil movie in theaters with Ben Afleck in the title role. 12 years later, Daredevil is making a live action comeback as a Netflix Original series produced by Marvel itself.
Marvel and Netflix have premiered the first full trailer for “Daredevil” on IGN, which focuses on the early days of Matt Murdock, as played by former “Boardwalk Empire” standout Charlie Cox. As in the original Marvel comic Daredevil created by Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett, Matt Murdock was blinded as a young boy while saving an old man from being struck by a truck. The resulting chemical exposure gave Matt superhuman senses that he puts to use as the vigilante known as Daredevil.

The trailer for the series focuses on Matt’s earliest days as Daredevil, in a costume that is heavily inspired by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s Man Without Fear miniseries. While Daredevil gets the bulk of the attention here, the footage also shows quick glimpses of Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and even Stick (Scott Glenn), the man who trained Daredevil.
All 13 episodes of “Daredevil” will premiere on Netflix on Friday, April 10.
