Hall-of-Fame third baseman Wade Boggs had 3,010 hits in his 18-year baseball career. By the sound of it, that number pales in comparison to the amount of beer he consumed during that time.
In his interview prefacing the 10th season of his hit show “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” actor Charlie Day tells Jimmy Fallon that the premiere episode is based on a real-life story Boggs told him about the time he consumed 107 beers in one day — starting as a ‘pre-game’ before leaving for the aiport, bridged by a layover, and followed with an after-party upon landing.
