Someone needs to take away the Auto-Tune toy, because this nonsense has gone far beyond ridiculous. Kanye West gives some mainstream interest to Chicago rapper Chief Keef’s new album Nobody by appearing on the title track, but let’s be real about this: the song is absolute dogshit.
A late-game contender for the Worst Song of 2014 finds West warbling his way through a background vocal like he’s trapped in a half-assed nightmare of scraps from 808s and Heartbreak, as Keef makes us want to stab out our goddamn ears with an atrociously cheap beat, a grating melody and amateurish design around a song nobody ever needed to hear. Seriously, listen to this whack-ass waste of time collaboration:
Keef was understandably dropped from Interscope back in October, but he’ll self-release his new album, also called Nobody, tomorrow. Don’t buy it.
