The 2014 ARIA Awards crowned Sia as Australia’s most successful artist at Wednesday night’s award show, honouring the downtempo pop star with Album Of The Year, Best Female Artist, Best Pop Release and Best Video for the hugely popular ‘Chandelier’.
“She challenges her listeners but doesn’t alienate them. I have mad respect for anyone who does that. I think it is what any good artist does,” Chet Faker said of Sia.
Electronica musician/producer Faker was the ARIA’s other big winner, collecting a string of awards including Best Male Artist and Best Independent Release following last week’s J Award for Best Australian Album Of The Year.
Faker led a host of live performances on the night with ‘Talk Is Cheap’, while Dan Sultan, Neil Finn and Paul Kelly, Hilltop Hoods and boy bands 5 Seconds Of Summer and One Direction also took to the stage.
