Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has revealed the best player he has ever played alongside, stating that the Brazilian star Ronaldo is the cream of the crop.
Speaking in an interview with Goal, Zidane put Ronaldo ahead of the likes of Thierry Henry, Beckham, Raul and Luis Figo, saying: “I’ve always seen Ronaldo as the best because I played and trained with him.
“He’s probably the best player I ever played with. He did what he wanted with the ball and didn’t have any weaknesses.
“When he decided to express himself with the ball, he did whatever he wanted. Technically, no player has impressed me more than Ronaldo. On a good day, it was impossible to stop him.”
Ronaldo is certainly a worthy choice, after having won two Ballon d’Or’s during his illustrious career and twice lifting the World Cup for Brazil.
“When Ronaldo had the ball, he ran at 2000 miles per hour”, Zidane concluded. “In most cases, you’re fast without the ball. He was fast with it.”
