Assassin’s Creed Unity is allegedly suffering from crippling framerate issues, if reports from players are to be believed.
The game, which is out today in the US, is reportedly dipping far below 30fps on both PS4 and Xbox One, with players claiming that it frequently stutters along at a snail’s pace.
The below YouTube video highlights the apparent technical issue with the game, with its description reading: “And I thought traversing between large crowds caused frame rate drops. This is just insane. I miss the glorious 1080p/LOCKED 30fps presentation of Black Flag. Please release a patch Ubisoft PLEASE.”

Dealspwn and NowGamer have reported issues with the game, with the former stating that the issue is apparent across all platforms, branding it an “utter shambles.”
The game is still under embargo from Ubisoft right now so no reviews have surfaced, though if these reports are true then Ubi could be facing a backlash similar to the one they received with Assassin’s Creed III. Considering the giant leap forward for the series Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was for the series, it’d be a shame if this was the case.
With Ubisoft stating that they have no plans to release another patch for the game (it launched with a 900MB update), we hope these reports prove to be unfounded.
