Juventus Accused of Sexism After Revealing Their Latest Presenter Laura Barriales

Juventus has been accused of sexism for a photoshoot it released of its latest news presenter, Spanish model and actress Laura Barriales.

The unveiling of the presenter was accompanied by a gallery of images of Barriales, showing her wearing the Juventus kit and a suit with remarkably short shorts.

As translated by Huffington Post, Juventus said of her appointment as news presenter: “Leon-born Barriales boasts a wealth of experience in the industry. Making her on-screen debut in 2006, and has been a huge fan of the black and white stripes since the playing days of Zinedine Zidane.”

The photos of her were also placed in a photo album on the club’s official Facebook page, showing her lacing up her boots in the Italian kit. We’re not sure she’ll be playing much football from behind her desk, but we don’t think Juve were concerned with the logistics here.

A gallery of images of Laura was also posted on Juventus‘ official website, featuring her posing around the Juventus Stadium and, in one snapshot, laughing over a formations sheet.

It’s certainly a “unique” way to promote a new presenter, we’ll give them that.
