Get off Pirate Bay, Australia, ’cause Foo Fighters’ upcoming HBO series Sonic Highways is headed to our fine country thanks to the free-to-air Go! Network, and will first screen just one hour after the show makes its debut in the US.
The network will fast-track the documentary series to Australia, with Sonic Highways making its TV debut on Saturday, 18th October at 4:30pm. It’s not ideal viewing time, so you might want to set your DVRs.
Sonic Highways is an eight-part documentary series that chronicles the Foo Fighters as they travel around the US recording their upcoming eighth studio album, also titled Sonic Highways, in various studios with many notable names in music.
The series is directed by Foos’ frontman Dave Grohl and will feature artist like Slash, famed Nirvana producer and Garbage member Butch Vig, Black Keys’ frontman Dan Auerbach, and Willie Nelson among others.
As the Foos’ continue to mark their 20th anniversary as a band, Grohl and the boys will perform on The Late Show With David Letterman each day this week, and debut Something From Nothing, the first official single from Sonic Highways, both on radio and online, Thursday, 16th October at 10am CT (US).
As the good news keeps flooding in the Foo Fighters also told local fans, via Facebook, they can expect an Australian tour “sooner than you think.”
Sonic Highways, the HBO series, is also available to buy on iTunes. The Foo Fighters’ new album is set for release on Monday, 10th November.
