Cristiano Ronaldo is reconsidering his future at Real Madrid, according to the star’s former teammate Angel Di Maria.
Di Maria, who has now signed for Ronaldo’s old club Manchester United and shares an agent with the striker, has spoken out about Ronaldo’s reservations with the La Liga club, saying: “I don’t know how much longer Ronaldo can put up with it at Madrid. I get the impression that he is not very happy.”

Chief among Ronaldo’s issues with the club are his wages, as he continues to slump down the list of the world’s highest-paid footballers. Considering he is largely regarded as one of, if not the best player in the world, it’s inevitable that watching the likes of Di Maria and even Manchester United’s Rooney jettison past him will have been a hard pill to swallow.
Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, responded to Di Maria’s comments, saying: “Ronaldo’s comments are based on things I am aware of and he is at liberty to divulge them. These comments have not surprised me and certainly not upset me. “

Ronaldo had previously stated how he would like to return to Manchester United some day, despite having only recently signed a four-year contract with Madrid. If the striker proves to be too unhappy at the Spanish club, he could theoretically terminate his contract and return to the Premier League, but only time will tell if that will be the case. One thing’s for certain: Man U could certainly do with his help right now.
