Beloved deadpan rockers The Hold Steady took to a nearly rained-out Boston Calling on Saturday with a career-spanning set including “Chips Ahoy!,” singalong “Southtown Girls” and our favorite, “Your Little Hoodrat Friend.” On the latter, the Boston-bred frontman Craig Finn reminisced on his past saying, “I was born here. I went to school here. I never thought I’d be a rock star here.”
