PAX Prime Survival Guide: 10 Tips For Braving This Week’s Huge Gaming Convention

Let’s face it, you’re going to be spending a good chunk of your time waiting in lines. Thankfully, you’ll be standing next to people who share similar interests with you. Try to spark up conversation. You might make a few friends, and at the very least waiting in line won’t be so bad.

PAX Prime is host in a single hall, with a ton of booths. It’s one massive block of gaming, with endless game stations and people who want you to come over and play their upcoming games.

The weekend is going to go by so fast you won’t remember half of it. Take pictures along your journey so that you can remember the good times you had, and share them with family and friends. Preferably have photos taken of you and the things you experience, not just 1080p images of your food.

This one might be obvious, but it’s an important tip. Bring the badge that PAX sent you in the mail. If you haven’t received it, you can pick it up at the Will Call by bringing a paper copy of your ticket (or a receipt on your cell phone) and a valid photo ID.

  • PAX Prime is going to be absolutely packed with people. As such, it’s crowded, and full of germs. Try to fit fruits and veggies into your PAX diet and take your vitamins.
  • This is a four day event. Chances are you’ll be exhausted. Find ways to relax, especially during the first two days when your body and mind are in shock.
  • There will be free WiFi around the convention center. It won’t be 100% reliable, but it’s something.
  • If you’re driving to the convention center, parking is $10 a day.
  • Not a big city person? There are buses and taxis everywhere. That’s how people get around.
  • Bring money. You’ll need it for all the ridiculously expensive food and items.
