The first wave of Meredith Music Festival sideshows has begun to roll in, with headlining solo shows announced today from Meredith acts Phosphorescent, The Lemonheads, Cloud Nothings and Ty Segall.
While here for Meredith, Californian singer-songwriter Ty Segall will undertake his biggest Australian tour to date making stops in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Byron Bay, and Brisbane. The skilled multi-instrumentalist will be touring in support of his highly anticipated new double album, “Manipulator”, which is slated for release this Friday, 22nd August.
Ohio group Cloud Nothings will also set out on a short run of East Coast Australian headline performances in addition to their Meredith set. The group, known for staging memorable live shows, will be touring their new album, “Here And Nowhere Else”.
US indie rock legends The Lemonheads have also announced a string of East Coast solo shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this December. Founding member Evan Dando and his band have promised to play new music mixed in with the classics.
Finally, singer-songwriter Matthew Houck, who releases music under the moniker Phosphorescent, will also play handful of solo sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne this December. The Athens-bred musician dropped his latest release, “Muchacho”, in 2013 to rave reviews, making it the the most acclaimed Phosphorescent album to date.
The Meredith Music Festival will take place from Friday 12th to Sunday, 14th December at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre. Other acts announced on the lineup include, De La Soul, Augie March, Ghostface Killah and The War On Drugs, who jumped the gun and announced their sideshows earlier this year.
