Microsoft Says it Has the “Best Multiplayer” in New Xbox One Ad

The Xbox One is great at a few things, multiplayer being one of them. That’s the exact premise for Microsoft’s latest advertising campaign.

Instead of focusing on its exclusive line-up like it has been for a few months, Microsoft is focusing on its multiplayer community for its new advertising campaign. A new 35 second commercial has been created which will be shown on cable television and online spots. You can see it above.

The Xbox brand earned its reputation as the king of online multiplayer in the console market during the past two generations with the Xbox and Xbox 360. While Sony’s first party focused primarily on single-player campaigns (i.e. God of War 3, Heavy Rain, and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune) and free online service, Microsoft opted to deliver a premium service and more online oriented games, albeit at a price. Sony has just recently followed the trend with the PS4 where online play requires a PS Plus subscription.

The Xbox One has several upcoming games that are multiplayer centric that are sure to be marketed, four of which were shown in this new commercial. These games include Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Sunset Overdrive, as well as third-party games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Evolve.
