James Corden has been announced as the host of US talk show The Late Late Show, after previous host Craig Ferguson announced that would be leaving the show after a 10-year reign.

British actor Corden is known for presenting UK sports panel show A League of Their Own, along with his work on the popular TV series Gavin & Stacey. He also co-created the far less popular Horne & Corden show, which… well… just watch it:
TheWrap has reported that Corden beat out the likes of Joel McHale and Neil Patrick Harris to secure the role, which is one huge feat considering US audiences aren’t particularly familiar with the actor.
Aside from The Late Late Show, Corden’s next appearance in the US will be in the Hollywood adaptation of Into the Woods, starring Johnny Depp.
