Dirty Heads have returned, and their new album Sound of Change (grab it on iTunes) is already kicking serious ass with a debut at #1 on the Independent Albums chart, a #1 spot on the Alternative Albums chart, and #2 on the Rock Albums chart. Led by the infectiously bright single “My Sweet Summer” and accompanying video, the band are enjoying one of the strongest release runs of their career.
The guys paid a visit to Crave’s offices recently for a series of special features, kicking off with a full-band discussion on all things Dirty Heads and a look deeper inside Sound of Change. In the latest clip, we get drummer Jon Olazabal in front of a green screen to discuss another area of expertise for the percussionist: beer.
Check out the hilarious clip below, in which Olazabal discusses his favorite beers, and his history working for a beer distribution company, where he learned the tricks of the tasty brew trade. He talks up his favorite beer, and shows us how to open a beer bottle with a plastic water bottle if a standard opener isn’t present (lifehack alert). This is all before he does some ungodly strange things with a can of Tecate in the spirit of showing us how to “gussy up” a beer. Check it out below, exclusively on Crave:
Additionally, the band are set to serve as Artist Ambassador for Hard Rock International and WhyHunger’s Imagine There’s No Hunger campaign later this year. The goal for both projects is to raise funds and awareness for children in need of better nutrition across the globe. Throughout the tour, auction packages for Dirty Heads Meet & Greets will be made available for the cause, and the band will be giving away support wristbands in exchange for a minimum donation to the cause on the road.
