17-Year-Old Dies After Being Airlifted out of Latitude Festival

A teenager has died after being airlifted out of Latitude Festival.

The 17-year-old male’s death has not been treated as suspicious by authorities, who revealed that medical staff described him as “acutely unwell.”

A statement made to BBC News regarding the teen’s tragic death reads: “A 17-year-old male attending Latitude was airlifted to hospital on Saturday afternoon and died in the early hours of Sunday morning. The young male suffered from an isolated medical condition. The police are not treating this as suspicious.”

The teenager died in the early hours of Sunday (June 20th) morning at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, with East Anglian Air Ambulance staff airlifting him from the site of the festival on Saturday afternoon. Despite the emergency treatment he was given, the unnamed 17-year-old didn’t survive.

There have been a number of medical incidents taking place in festivals this year, with a 24-year-old man dying whilst traveling to Snowbombing Festival in Austria, and a man collapsing in British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park, London after suffering a heart attack. Fortunately, he survived the heart attack after a stranger performed CPR on him, effectively saving his life.
