Metallica Are Jobless & Desperate in ‘SportsCenter’ Promo

Hot on the heels of giving Glastonbury haters the what-for, Metallica keep the tongue planted firmly in cheek with a new SportsCenter promo that finds the L.A. metal legends out of work.

In the clip, SportsCenter anchor Jay Harris reports that the band is having a hard time finding a use for themselves at ESPN’s headquarters now that former New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera has retired. Rivera had previously used their smash hit “Enter Sandman” as his entrance music, and in his absence the guys are having trouble contracting their entrance tracks to others. Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski and golfer Jon Daly both decline, so Kirk Hammett resorts to desperately slinging guitar lessons in the break room – with depressing results.
