Murdered: Soul Suspect Developer Airtight Games Has Closed

Murdered: Soul Suspect developer Airtight Games has closed just weeks after the release of game.

The independent developer, that was also responsible for Dark Void, has yet to release a statement regarding its closure, though it is likely due to the poor critical and commercial reception of its latest game.

While Murdered: Soul Suspect launched in third place behind Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8, its sales slumped following its initial debut. According to GeekWire, who visited the company’s office space in Redmond, the building had been shuttered and Airtight Games’ equipment was being sold at a discounted price.

Airtight had released Murdered: Soul Suspect, which was published by Square-Enix, in June, with the game receiving a mixed response from critics. Formed in 2004, the company’s other most high-profile release, Dark Void, had received a similar reception.

We’ll update this story when Airtight Games has made an official statement.
