Carlton Dry Opens $50,000 Music Grant Award

Carlton Dry and the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) have teamed up to announce the 2014 Global Music Grant offering Australian musicians a once in a lifetime career break.

Returning for a second year of Australian music sponsorship, the Carlton Dry Global Music Grant has opened its doors to applications, offering the winner a whopping $50,000 to fund an overseas trip to promote the winning artist or group’s talents in overseas markets.

Last year’s cash injection went to Melbourne seven-piece King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, using the funds to tour the US and Canada including performances at Canadian Music Week and Austin Psych Fest.

“There is so much talent in Australian music right now and the grant is a way we can support young artists and give them the opportunity to take their music overseas. We can’t wait to see the entries that come in this year,” Carlton Dry brand manager Rob Elder said.

“This Grant is something that AIR is very proud of. We can’t think of a more direct way to help a great emerging artist in their career,” AIR Chairman of the Board David Vodicka said.

“The fact that the whole thing was instigated by Carlton Dry shows the value of our partnership with them.”

Applications close September 1st and are judged by a selected panel of industry experts. Check out all the content information at the official Global Music Grant website.
