Splendour in the Grass has revealed the full program for the 2014 Splendour Forum, which includes keynote speeches, a twilight film festival, the Splendour late night comedy club and a special festival edition of the the ABC’s own “Q&A”.
For festival goers eager to flex some serious mental muscle between sets, triple j’s Lindsay “The Doctor” McDougall will conduct this year’s keynote interview with former global CEO of Greenpeace Paul Gilding. Together they’ll take on and hopefully solve the question, “Life on Earth in 2030 – Fun, Frazzled or F%*ked?”
The people’s journalist Tony Jones will bring everyone’s favourite Monday night political forum Q&A to Byron for a very special festival edition of the show. There will also be a discussion panel about the case of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden helmed by fellow whistleblower Thomas Drake, his and Snowden’s attorney Jesselyn Radack and Greens Senator Scott Ludlam.
Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire are back to celebrate the beautiful lost art of letter writing with their annual special festival edition of Women of Letters. Artists including Lauren Mayberry (Chvrches), Courtney Barnett and Gossling will recite their own lettesr to the “Song They Wish They’d Written”.
Plus you can join Australian songwriters including Dave Faulkner (Hoodoo Gurus) and the guys from Rüfüs as they chat to ABC broadcaster Robbie Buck about their musical influences, lyrical inspirations and the songwriting craft.

Splendour in the Grass 2014 will take place from Friday, July 25th to Sunday, July 2nd at the North Byron Parklands.
