Eminem and Busta Rhymes have teamed up on a bonkers new song called “Calm Down,” which you can hear below.
Lifted from Busta Rhymes’ new album Extinction Level Event 2, the follow-up to his 1998 record Extinction Level Event: The Final World Front, the track is a spitfire lyrical throwdown with very little flow value until Em’s arrival turns the wordplay into a rewind-demanding laugh fest.
Busta Rhymes spoke on the Em collaboration to HotNewHipHop: “I’ve got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record. So it’s a lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project.”
In addition to Marshall Mathers, Extinction Level Event 2 will include collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Q-Tip. Look for it later this year.
Meanwhile, Eminem is set to headline this year’s Lollapalooza in Grant Park, Chicago this August. We’ve got mixed feelings about dude scowling and prowling around the stage as he lip-syncs for two straight headlining hours.
