WildStar Gets Trailer For This Week’s Huge Strain Update

It might only be a month since WildStar came out, but that doesn’t mean it can’t dump a truckload of new content into Nexus. That’s exactly what it’s doing this week.

Strain is ready for deployment, becoming WildStar‘s first “Ultradrop”—basically, a post-launch content update. In case you haven’t heard, it’s a patch that includes a ton of new content for players of all kinds. There’s some new lore to dive into, as well as exciting quests spread across two new zones. Also, since this is WildStar, there’s some new content for hardcore players to brave, including a ferocious boss.

Thematically speaking, Strain is an update built around a “virulent biological anomaly that has begun to spread across Nexus”. The enemies are disgusting, and the new items to earn make you stand out in a crowd. Those new items include a new emote and hoverboard that I know I’ll be after the moment the update arrives.

You’ve probably seen a lot of the cool stuff included in this patch, some of which we discussed in our E3 Preview, but the newly released flick gives you the most in-depth look yet. Check it out at the top of this article.

Although Strain doesn’t include any content for PvP fans, the next Ultradrop is confirmed to have several things in-store for blood-thirsty players, including a new battleground. It should arrive in August.

Strain is set to debut “later this week”. You can read more on WildStar‘s official site.
