American rapper Eminem recently hinted at new music after sharing the poster for the forthcoming film The Equalizer on Instagram and Facebook. Now, the new Marshall Mathers material has surfaced in the film’s official trailer. What’s more, it features vocals from Australian singer-songwriter Sia.
The Equalizer‘s trailer (below, and shared on Eminem’s Facebook) features the slow-building Eminem track, which begins with Sia crooning over a minimal drum beat. Mathers finally drops in with the powerful line, “It’s too late to start over… It’s the only thing I, thing I know,” as Sia repeatedly cries, “Guts over fear.”
The track, which is yet to be officially released or shared in full, marks the continuation of Eminem’s rap-pop crossover, which can be seen in other motivational tracks like Won’t Back Down and Not Afraid. Eminem and Sia last collaborated on the song Beautiful Pain, which appeared on Eminem’s 2013 album The Marshall Mathers LP 2.
